About Us

2014 in NYC's Central Park
Laurel and I were teenage sweethearts when we met at the bus stop at a Kent State University scholarship contest, we could never have imagined how God might use a chemist (logical analytical) and musician (abstract intuitive) to serve the Kingdom of Christ.

I became a Christian just three short weeks before I met Laurel on the university campus. As we got to know each other, I was also seeking after God. As I studied the Bible and the sciences, I began to see how everything was interconnected. In my mind, science was no longer the cause of everything, but the measure of all God has revealed to us. As I pondered the vastness of creation and the complexity of the physical laws of the universe, I began to marvel at the immeasurable qualities of God and his laws which are beyond my understanding.

We believe that some things can be measured like time, space and matter. Other things cannot be measured--joy and grief, love and hate, pain and bliss, goodness and evil; these are the unquantifiable parts of our reality where God meets us and brings us into the light of his truth.

Thirty years later, we are providing comfort, hospitality and kindness to scholars from Mainland China. Many felt and spiritual needs are revealed as students face cross-cultural, academic and personal crises.

We thank many donors who allow us to be available 24/7 to meet the needs of students in our community!
